1985 F-150 (Alternator Stator Wire)

Can someone please tell me where the stator wire off the back of the alternator connects on the motor? I know where it connects on the alternator. But the wire was lose under the truck when I went to change the alternator and I can't find where it connects to on the motor! The wire is about 12 inches long with a butt connector on the motor end and a round push connector on the alternator end. The butt connector is female, so the other connection will be a male end. I can't find it !!!! please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:-X16

If you have a factory amp guage, it goes to the electric choke on the carb. If you have an idiot light for the alt, then it goes to the "s" terminal on the regulator and possibly on the choke too. If someone has changed the carb, it possibly would go nowhere.
