bad cold start
I have access to a 1980 B2000 sundowner, but it has me stumped. stock 4 banger( I think 1.8L) with a new and tuned carb, new plugs/cap/rotor/wires. It turns over fine, won't fire till after 10 minutes of attempting to fire it up, and won't stay running till another 5-10 min. after that....once slightly warmed up, it takes off like a rocket, with no problems at all  . is there another type of plugs and wires that are better for the cold, or any adjustments i can make to it BESIDES the carb? any help is greatly appreciated.:)
also...i read the post from 12/27 about cold starts about the IAC...does this engine have one? if so where is it? I am also interested in better plugs/wires/cap for more reliable winter performance..thanx for the help:) <!-- / message --> |
