This is in the NE part of KS. Randolph is on US77 about 25 miles north of Manhattan. Most sites list the park as 350 + acres. There are easy two wheel drive trails down into the park. There are also sections that my locked 32" tired Bronco won't make it up. One section know as the Rock Garden can be trouble for even 36" tired trucks. I'll post some links. I have some pictures and vids on my web site. www.mappyjack.com

As of now we have a few folks who want to camp out Saturday night in Fancy Creek campground. Everyone is welcome to come and share the campfire. There is an old motel in Randolph and modern motels/hotels in Manhattan. I will have pizza and chili saturday night. Just let me know if you'd like to eat with us. Thinking about 7:00 PM for food. Standard campfire rules apply (first liar doesn't stand a chance). Trails on Sunday. Meeting in the parking lot at the ORV area at 9:00 AM. Access to the park is free. If you need help finding the parking lot I can meet you in Randolph and take you there. I will be on CB channel 13. We return to the parking lot for lunch. Most bring a sack lunch but there is food available in Randolph.

General saftey rules apply. Seat belts. Tow points front and rear.

If I missed anything please let me know.

Sounds interesting- didnt get to do much wheeling over the summer. While its not a terrible distance for me (south central Ia) I probably will pass- maybe when the new trail rig is completed!!!!

Technical Question... How rough of a trail is it? I have a stock '66 4x4 and a stock '94. The 66 can take a beating all day, but it would not be a fun drive from here to there on the highway... (tirenoise - waaah waaah waaah) But I can't tear up the '94 because it is the primary vehicle.... Thoughts?

Trailer the 66 with the 94! :-X22 :-X04

Sorry it took so long to reply. Remodeling the digs and had stuff re-wired. I'm set to go now though. A little plumbing work then a lot of sheet rock. Then never ending painting.

There are trails as easy or as difficult as you will want to do. I like to head west out of the parking lot and drive around the outside of the park counter clockwise. That has multiple routes and stuff to suite most. Best advice I can give is if you come up on something you want to try, get out and look it over, then have someone(s) spot you if needed. If you get in trouble stop. Get out and look things over if you can. If not others will for you.

This kind of wheeling is not for street tires. P tires will not hold up.

Looks like rain today and this evening. It will not bother me cooking though. I'd like to do eats 6:00 to 8:00 PM so I can have everyting cleaned up and spend a few hours around the campfire talking. Hope it clears off by then. Looks like a good day to wheel on sunday. See ya up there. I'll have the CB on channel 13 tonight and tomorrow morning. See ya soon.
