Any Yoopers Out There?
I was a displaced yooper for a long time....living out here in dink-land (Califonia)...but am going to move back to the homeland (Ishpeming) in a couple weeks...I have had enough of these twits out here.

My father in law is a displaced yooper, been down in SE MI since he was in HS, and he's going home(Curtis) next year after retiring from HydroMatic. If I could find work up there, I'd move too. My job's a bit hard to find much past Flint. Bummer.

sort of...
Yooper00, If I might ask, what on earth could have made you leave Ishpeming to go to the west coast ? Some of the people out there are just plain nuts. The ones who aren't nuts, are flakes. My sister lives there (SF area ), and we have visited, but NO WAY would I want to live there. My family and I went up to the UP for thanksgiving, and for the 2nd week of deer camp. We stayed in a cabin outside of L'Anse. We also purchased some land in Herman, we hope to move there someday. My Dad went to Tech in Houghton, and met my mom on Isle Royale, so I may have been concieved somewhere in the nothern part of the state, but they won't confess. I do seem to really like the cold and snow more than some, so the UP seems to be in my blood. We live in the lower, but our hearts are always in the UP. DinosaurFan

Born and raised in Alston, MI, about 16 miles west of Baraga, MI. Now, spend summers up there and winters in Virginia.

Born and raised here in Chassell, 15 minutes south of Houghton/Hancock.

Hey yooper. I feel your pain. Born in Bell Memorial man. Joined the AF a few years back but it's all coming to an end this summer and want to go back to Marquette County. I'm in east central Missouri right now but I can't get the Yooper blood out of me. It's supposed to hit 65 degrees here Thursday and that ain't right for the end of December. No snow by God! Hang in there yooper. You're almost home free.

I'm here in Iron River, A great peaceful area to live and raise my family. Worked in Negaunee for a year (1983) and have been here since.
The "big cities" are only 1-3 hours away so we can visit and then head back home! |
