Cabin Air Filter 04 F-150 FX4 SuperCab
I have 45000 miles on my truck already and I'm trying to change the Cabin Air Filter. I've looked through the owners manual, and it doesn't show anything.
Does anyone know where it even is, and how to change it? Thanks, Big Ed |
do they have one?
|
Yeah, its got one. I think...key word "think"... that its that box thing under the glove box. Thats where the 02-03 air filters were. Swing by the dealer and ask them. Wont cost anything to ask

What's the point of the cabin air filter anyway... As soon as you open the window, you are "contaminating" all your fresh filtered air anyway......

I just found this article while looking for other stuff.
http://www.fram.com/news/72.htm oops, it reverts back to the main news page. Scroll down to about the 12th article title. |
There is no cabin air filter. Just like there are no side airbags or 5 speed auto transmission- probably in 2006 with a power upgrade.
|
ummm... It looks like the Lariats have the cabin air filter. They even list the filter part number for my '02 Lariat. I'll check it out tomorrow.
|
Look inyour maintence schedule booklet. it says change your cabin filter at 15,000 miles.
|
It says change if equipped. I have a 2004 Screw Lariat and there is no mention of a cabin filter in the manual or brochure. I really don't think there is one.
|
My 2004 FX4 Super Cab states to change the cabin air filter as well.
Still have not been able to find it..... MK |
F150 2004 and you got 45,000 mileage!?!? where did you go :) ???? alaska ?? haha
YOMAN! |
Well I took the dash all apart, and I don't see one. I found a good step by step on the Purolator website, but the pictures show that it would be easy to see. I'll take this joker back tomorrow. Thanks for all of the replies. : )
P.S. Yep I have a lot of miles, I love to be in my truck!! |
i really dont think there is one
|
It's not listed in the Purolator replacement guide. So One would think it's not there. Could be wrong. But other filters even if not available have place holders in the catalog!
|
Have you checked inside the engine bay? I forgot to check at lunch. On my VW the cabin filter was above the glove box, but you had to access it from the engine bay. You had to pry up on the cowl and out she came.
Just a thought...:-huh |
