Try http://www.hi-performance.com . They are in Prince George but ship anywhere and usually their prices are good.
What about Mopac? http://www.mopacautosupply.com/main.html

I've found that Summit is the cheapest placee to get headers even with shipping, and it often by 100 bucks

When i was checking my order status (gettin some bling for my flareside) on summit i did a quick search on some big block heders and here are some i came up with, although none of them are 4wd specific any muffler shop can modify them for clearence to work for your truck. Here they are (shipping costs roughly between 8-20 dollars depending on where its shipped):

Dynomax WLK-85050 $157 american roughly 200 canadian; for 73-79 2wd trucks, Flowtech BIG-12560FLT $148.99 american~ 190 canadian; for an 80's and up ford 4wd, Hedman HED-89200 $135.88~ 170 canadian for class c motorhomes 75-91.

i emailed summit for my app i cant seem to find any thing for my 79 f250 4x4 460 the mods your talking about what would they be

mustange70 11-04-2004 09:31 PM

Just bending the tubes or the collector, its nothing to big as long as the headers are reasonably close. Really if you hav a tourch and a pipe bender (a hand held one) that can go up to 2" you should be able to mod them yourself. And look for 460 headers, i've found that its easier to be less specific then search through the results to get what you want.

so which ones would you think would be the easiest to modify there was a guy in powell river in the buy sell& trade said he had NIB set of headers for this app $600 but cant find the add no more

Headers made for those years would be your best bet cause then they would clear the firewall and frame better.

im goin to head down to the muffler shop tomorrow i know they have them in stock see what they charge for the mods thanks for all the info and by the way ive spent lots of time in ALTA wre is COUTTS

66f14evr 11-05-2004 01:33 PM

i finally got a reply from summit they have the headers in stock $420 US and collecters $25 US then shipping on that that will be a $700 set of headers

mustange70 11-05-2004 11:26 PM

If you are willing to go throught the fab process (or get a muffler shop to do it) i say get a set for a 2wd and save yourself 500-600 bucks. The ones i would look at are the dynomax headers (i posted above) or the flowtech ones.

ya thats what im going to do 7/800 is just to much

mustange70 11-06-2004 12:22 AM

I just remember why you can't find cheap headers for your 460 truck. Ford never offered a 460 in a 4wd truck till 83. Thats why everything you find costs major $$. Also after reading some threads it seems that L&L products (make lots of 460 prroducts for swaps) might havesomething that'll work for you.
