Code P 133

Does anyone have any suggestions for this code? I am guessing it has something to do with my fuel system since i am getting very low mileage. any help would be appreciated. thanks

P0133 is "O2 sensor circuit slow response; bank 1 sensor 1". Slow response usually indicates the O2 sensor is going bad. Bank 1 sensor 1 is the first sensor after the manifold on the passenger side.

well, i went around town pricing o2 sensors today. by the time i had made to the 3rd auto parts store, the cel disappeared. is this normal? i assume that the sensor is still going bad. should i wait for the light to come on one more time before i replace? thanks for your help

John, I've had that happen before. The MIL would come on and then go off again, usually when driving on the interstate, and then changing to in-town driving. It means the O2 sensor is going bad (or getting covered with carbon), and will fail eventually.

You can change it at your leisure. :-X0A6 I'd pick a nice sunny fall day, rather than wait until it gets cold. It'll probably run a lot better and get better mpg with a new one.....
