Sounds familiar Lou...

Freak April snowstorm. Had the bright idea to "spring clean" my truck & took out the snow chains the week before...normally they'd rattle around til August or so. Only way out of parking lot was blocked by the snowbank made by the plows. I lost my nerve midair. Truck stopped with front wheels about 8" off the ground. Snowbank had turned into mostly ice - losing my nerve was apparently common sense kicking in about 2 seconds late.

It was about 20 degrees. I'd gotten back from Mexico 11 pm the night before. No winter clothes, no boots, no coat. Stuck in town & wound up sleeping in a unheated attic. Got out my nice, new WOOL Oaxaca blanket, wrapped up in it, borrowed a shovel & started digging. About 2 hours later, a guy plowing took pity on me & lifted my back bumper over the icebank. I only had 5 more inches to go!

I decided after that that maybe slobbishnesas wasn't so bad after all...

KEEP 'EM going, i love it.....

Ladyfire3374 12-18-2004 04:03 PM

Lessee...there was the time I went to fix a shorted cord on a small <ahem> personal appliance. Got out my (insulated) dikes & went snip....
followed by **POP**, blue spark & darkness.
Then had to think fast to explain how I tripped the breaker.

Ladyfire3374 12-18-2004 04:10 PM

And then there was the time my woodstove wasn't drawing quite rigtht. Took off the stovepipe to clean it with an old chain. Had forgotten I'd also asked my landlord to clean the chimney. He used the country method - rags and fuel oil. I didn't know he was doing his thing until I heard my smoke alarm go off.....house was FULL of oily smoke. Got into clothes, linens, dishes, everything. Only benefit was that I learned how to get the smoke smell out of just about anything washable.

And these are just stories involving sobriety.....

Spiderman, Spiderman, does whatever a spider can....
Locate us a BBQ van.
Just like you can.....

Ladyfire3374 12-19-2004 10:34 AM

Old87,

I've been playing with the idea of getting an old school bus to tinker with...they're REAL cheap. (Like I need something else in the driveway to fix. Would probably lead to a divorce. At least I could live in the bus, LOL).

I can see it...The PSD/Ford BBQ & Brew Express. Pull up to a BBQ joint, put on the stop lights, with the little "STOP" sign that comes out, and a bunch of us come stumbling off....

jharvey3 12-19-2004 01:11 PM

and a bunch of us come stumbling off....
You'd have to open the rear emergency door and just roll me out :-X03 :-X03 :-X18

Camo bus with realtree paint job and in white letters " HA-HA- You can't see me"

Ladyfire3374 12-21-2004 12:13 AM

How bout a CNG Marta bus.
We won't get far on natural gas, but we can stick the kegs up around the tanks. As the gas converts to vapor, it'll keep that beer d*mn good & cold.

old87 12-21-2004 10:16 PM

Make it diesel so we can run offa oils and all that or let our members find a cool tow vehicle and tote the bus and gear.
Ladyfire - adding gas to a beer & bbq rig causes me some concern.
Your ideas are great though - thanks for the insight!!!!

A large propane tank is in order.......Well two of them, 1 must be cut in half and large enough to cook the "whole hog"

Ladyfire3374 12-22-2004 09:47 AM

Or we cut cut the roof off the back and make a veranda....for grilling and checking out the "scenery".

Old87, the only gas to worry about comes from beans served with the 'Q.

Biodiesel's nice, but how would the smell of donuts or old fries go with BBQ & beer?

And a broncoll spare tire cover :-X06

Ladyfire3374 12-23-2004 08:49 AM

Spare tire cover?
Let's just tack tires all around, like they do on boats - in case we "bump" into anything.
Everybody gets their own tire cover, it they want.

3broncocrazy 12-23-2004 09:40 AM

ladyfire, i like that idea!!!
