Swap Offer

I'd like to replace the rear end in my 1977 F150 2x4 with one that originally came with the truck. Years ago my Dad put one in for more power to pull his 5th wheel. The truck originally came with a 2.75, now I have a 3.7. It has a tag on it so I'm told it's the whole package. I thought if anyone wanted wanted to swap it'd be so much easier than trying on my own to find one. I'm new to this truck owner stuff so hope I'm going in the right direction. I'm in Maple Grove.

Do you still have the 9 inch in the truck, or did he completely swap to a Dana or Visteon? I might have a 2.75 assembly laying around. I know for sure I have a 2.47. Third member.

The tag reads "WDM AR 4LD 3.70-9 303B. I'm sorry, I don't know what Dana or Visteons are. Am really new to trucks and anything that makes them work. My build sheet said 2.75 so I guess that's the one I'd like. Thought someone else could use the extra power, I don't need it.

It looks like a 9 inch from the tag. But just to be sure take a look at the axle to make sure. The 9 has no removable rear cover. The gears come out as an assembly with the center section from the front side of the axle. I'll look and see if I have something laying around. If I can remember.

Finally got around to poking my head under the truck. All the bolts are on the front side, towards the engine. There is nothing that looks removable on the rear side.

Thanks
Vicki
