Where to find Mesquite and Hickory Wood For Smokin'?

Hey Ya'll,
Do you know where or how I could get a supply of hickory and mesquite wood for my new smoker? It's a beast. I could fit fireplace sized logs in this thing. I bought a small bag of mesquite wood chunks. But would like to get a few logs worth. :-wink

Assuming you don't want the little wood chunks, but some real "firewood"... there's a place (tree removal service I think) on Pine just E. of Mingo. There's also a place on Hwy. 11 just N. of Skiatook.

No mesquite, but if you can use hickory and several differant types of oak, then we have all you can cut up and haul off. Had a tornado blow thru here resently and mature oak and hickory trees are down all over the place. More than you would burn for fire wood in several lifetimes. May be a little far from you, so you would need to bring a truck and small trailer to get all you can per trip. We are in Creek County, between Depew and Shamrock. Three miles north of Hwy. 66. Only requirements are to use tobacco products inside your vehicle only (to avoid pasture fires), no alchohol or drugs, and we are not responcible for accidents, injury, or death. And if you kill yourself, I get your pick-up, and don't worry, after a few days, the coyotes and bob cats will eliminate those troublesome burial expences. :-X05

Thanks fellas. Thanks for the offer, Okie-Dokie. That's a bit of a drive. I doubt that I'll be driving that way any time soon. I was at Academy sports and outdoors over the weekend and just for grins checked out the smoker and grills section. Yippee. They sell the smokin wood in 1cuft bags for $10. That's a big bag o' smokin wood. :) :-X22
