Englewood's new ordinance discriminates against hobbyists
Anybody that lives in Englewood should know by now about a new ordinance that prohibits trailers, boats or unlicensed vehicles in your driveway. Seems this is a problem in Englewood and it must be stopped. They are threatening to fine me for my 67 F250 sitting in my own driveway without an engine. It doesn’t matter if the engine is in the shop as we speak. It must move on its own or get it out of the driveway.

I live in Englewood and have had this problem. I was told that if you put a tarp over the car you will be ok. Worked for me, hope it helps.

That was last year, the've passed a brand new ordinance that just wnet into affect a few weeks ago. No vehicle can be stored in your driveway that does not move on its own power.

Looks like a friend of the mayor needed a job...and what better way to help a friend out than to impede on the rights of the citizen..this the law you are talking about..i dont see it saying anything about parking them on your private property, but i will keep looking and see if i find anything, if i do, i will post it here for you...
---JOHN http://livepublish.municode.com/3/lp...ple&2.0#LPHit1 this might be it also, im thinking it is.... http://livepublish.municode.com/3/lp...tit15x1-15-9-2 http://livepublish.municode.com/3/lp...tit15x1-15-9-1 says the vehicle cannot be in view, doesnt specify that you cant have a tarp in view, which apparently has an in-op vehicle under it.... ---JOHN ---JOHN |
Is your driveway sloped? Realistically, if gravity would help roll it backward, then technically it is moving on it's own power.
I wonder if one of those $150 car port deals from Costco would help? |
Then you will probably run into some issue with a "temporary structure"

Darkwolf, I just got a ticket for my truck. It's in my backyard, on a concrete slab behind a 6' fence. According to the paper they stapled to the ticket explaining the new rules it should be ok, I'm going to call and see what's up. Where in Englewood are you?
|
Sounds like a neighborhood convenant gone awry. The ticket was a pre-emptive strike, before you wheeled it to the front of the house!

I'm in district 4, but that shouldn't matter. It must be a privacy fence though, we sure don't want any uppity yuppies getting offended by having to look at an old truck.
