Mil1ion 07-30-2004 09:34 PM

Are you ready to declare a leader yet ?

vettehauler 07-31-2004 05:49 AM

I say we punk the next guy/gal that joins........."that'll learn em"
Besides Dennis, we traditionally end up voting Democrat...so its obvious we dont care too much about leadership.. :)

Yeah just what we need in Illinois, another Democrat in office. There aren't any budget type issues to conquer in being a chapter leader are their? :-X24

Illinois Chapter Leader

Well...........I was the membership director for the old Southern Lake Michigan Region of the Performance Ford Club of America for four years, and briefly Vice President (three months) until work/promotion got too busy. Was invloved with forming a Chicago area chapter of the Falcon Club, involved with the area Edsel club years ago. I'd be interested in knowing what is expected? Setting up meetings for Chapter members/chapter board members, crusie nights, help someone work on their truck/etc. projects, locate an area for shows and such is what I imagine would be required along with election of officers. I started Drag racing in 1968, Car/Truck/Van shows in 1975 and rebuilding/restomod cars/trucks since 1980. Rebuilt a 57' Ranchero, 61' Ranchero, 65' F - 250 and had a 1980 (new) F - 250 4x4. Currently looking for that next project when finished with projects for each of my Sons. Am I close to the desired target?

Chapter Leader

I printed out the sites list of rules, etc. I'll contact the site and discuss this with them.

I'd be happy to set up a chapter meeting in the Chicagoland area. This would be as a means to gage interest in moving the Illinois Chapter forward and becoming active as a group. I've owned Rancheros, F - 250s, even an E - 150 Econoline as well as a Ford truck chassis motor home. I'm looking for a project truck once finished with project cars for my Sons.

Where is everyone located? Is the majority of Illinois Chapter members near Chicago? Moving the meetings would be a fair means to accomodate everyone involved.

NascarNut 08-23-2004 04:42 PM

Yeah, I think the majority of members are near Chicago. Check the sticky at the top of the forum page.

I took a quick look at the sticky and it does seem the majority of members are within a reasonable driving distance from the general Chicagoland area. I'm in the south west suburbs myself. I had given thoughts of setting up a meeting at the Steak n Shake in Tinley Park, Sundown Meadows forest preserve grove in Countryside, Ledo's Pizza in Countryside/La Grange or Game Time in Palos Heights. I sent a message to the webmaster in regards to the chapter. I'd like to set a meeting up a gage what interest there is and what the members would like.
Say, Nascar nut..are you anywhere near Charleston, Ill? My Daughter went to school at E.I.U. and if need be we could set up a chapter meeting at the Pizza Hut in Charleston as a site? Also, the Kankakee area could be a meeting site.
I wouldn't want to exclude anyone as this gets off the ground.

Who here would be interested in a meeting in September?

NascarNut 08-24-2004 10:20 PM

Charleston is about 2 hours from here, my dad grew up there. I'm 6 miles north of Marion if that means anything to you... :)

It would be really hard for me to go too far away because school still takes up most of my time. My 11 MPG Bronco dosen't help either :-rip Where is Kankakee at?

This is off topic but have you ever been to the original Burger King in Mattoon? We always try to stop there when we visit my dad's family in Indiana. Those eyeballs in the ice cream are great!
