Just Ford fat fenders or......

.....do my fellow Okies also collect other "brands" of older trucks? I know some of us seem to be really bent on the brand loyalty stuff, but when it comes to old trucks.......well......I just like old trucks. I have a 53 f100 with the flathead that I'm going to keep original plus a 56 f100 that I want to make a daily driver out of. But with that said I also have a few others such as a 5 window that I do love to drive as it has that 1950's tech feel when driving down the road. Just curious about our other members. :-D

I have an appreciation for all brand of early trucks from the early to mid 20th century. It doesn't matter if it's a gmc, dodge, cheby, or ford, fat fendered truck. I like em all. I especially love to see them still on the road. A buddy of mine locally has a cherry 1940 cheby pickup. Amazing blue machine. You've got to see it to appreciate it. But I'll always favor my50 F1 pickup most. ;)

Hey Ron,

I think I have two trucks left to get, and thats a 48-50 F1 and a 56-57 Chevy. My most recent "fix" was 54 GMC COE. I'm hoping the F1 is still there when I'm ready (money wise) for it. If I want to go back original I have a spare flathead with trany. But I just may go different route with it. It may sound silly but I have thought about pulling the motor out of my 92 E250 and using it. It's a straight 6 but runs real good..........just one of the many thoughts on my future F1.

I just don't know about the way the other old trucks look, the non-Ford trucks, they just don't seem to fit my tastes, but I appreciate them anyways. I would like and old Willies or a power wagon for some off roading fun.

I love old Power Wagons too.

In fact, I've got a soft spot for old Dodges, Fargo,
Divco and yes, Studebaker trucks.
Can't help but admire 'em, and old Internationals
too. My RV is a 23' Class C Mobile Traveler on a
1972 B300 incomplete cab/chassis. I'm in the loop
of restoring it. It's nickname? the "Kobayashi Maru".
Yep. Trekkie-speak for "No Win Scenario"...

Then there's the automotive side... "Sheherazade"
is my 1976 Cadillac Eldorado convertible that I'll
restore in time to be buried in (lol), and "Anastasia"
my '77 Eldo hardtop. Both girls haven't seen much of
me lately, but I haven't forgotten them...

I can truly say that I'm not prejudiced, just preferential.
I see the sheer beauty of the mechanical aspect of all
vehicles... but I just LOVE how Ford packaged theirs!!!
My truck's name is Wilma... and she's a heckuva gal!

just my 2 cents...

Both of my sons have 60's models pickups....and they are both very nice...my old 71 custom is the oddball, but I am always looking....older fords are pretty rare out here....even in the junk yards....parts are scarace as hen's teeth....the old chevs are much easier to find....but very expensive....got a 74 vette in the garage.....need to finish....! Old truck....any.....are fun to own....!
Just my 2 cents worth.....!

White Knight.....do you know the difference in an old Dodge truck and a vacuum cleaner salesman........?
You can't slam the door on an old Dodge truck........lol.....sorry, couldn't resist......!
