Will A Ford '97 Radio/CD Fit Into My '94 F150?

I was given a 1997 dated Ford radio/CD. I want to install it into my 1994 F150. Will this unit just drop in?

Arn't the 97 and up radios din and a half? In other words is the face or front of the radio lager or taller then the one in your 94? Theres 3 sizes of headunits DIN, DIN AND A HALF, or DOUBLE DIN.
I know the one in your 94 is a DIN. But what do you mean dated? If it was made in 1997 for something then maybe but if its from a 97 f150 then no.

Get the dremmel and some epoxy and plastic out.
That baby WILL fit.

it wont fit because it is DIN and half in size and u can cut any of the dash out.

Help if i knew what a din was. =(

all modern car makers use a basic classification for radio sizes. the standard is a DIN which is what ur truck has. a DIN 1/2 is slightly bigger and comes in most new fords (aka that 97 HU) and finally there is a double din which most GM and mopars use. its basically 2 DIN stacked on top of each other size wise.

most GM and Mopars use DIN and 1/2, double DIN is mostly an import thing, although some newer domestics use it.
DIN is@ 7"X 2"
DIN and 1/2 is @ 7"X 3"
double DIN is @7"X 4"

I did build an enclosure for floor board and install a new style dual media radio from an explorer and it works great. There are harnesses you can buy without having to cut and splice anything.

As far as the old radio, just find a blank plate from a xl model in a junk yard or for fun, find a "tray" out of the 94-98 modle tbird and install in opening.,
