1984 f-250 axle code

My 84 f- 250 has axle code 24. I've searched and found axle code 24 listed on a 67 as a dana 60 with 4.10 ratio. I know my ratio is high.

Can anyone tell me if this is the same for an 84?

Anyone know where to look for this kind of information?

The best place I know to "Look" is to ask Hoxiii... I am not sure where he gets his decode info but he is usually pretty damn quick to reply with it.

Well I'll tell ya what. It all started when I'd read a post about someone looking for a code and it'd have 10 responses saying "you might kinda wanta sorta lookie here or there, but i dunno" and then I read in one where someone suggested calling Ford and that was it. At that moment I decided to dig my code book out and share the knowledge with the FTE world, no one should have to sink so low as to call Ford itself.

ANYWAY, Your axle should be a Dana 60 open carrier with 4:10 gears and is rated to 5300 lbs.

Have a nice day.

Justin
