had to put:
new turbo
dual mass flywheel went out, replaced with LUK clutch and flywheel
New injector o-rings
new rear leaf springs
a few other minor things
my '99 had 32,000 when i bought it may '02
now has 51,000

My 99 F350 5.4 Auto 4x4 has 54K - other than PM I have replaced the coilpack on the #5 cylinder, rearend seal, 2 front rotors, both front door latches (switch for interior light is integral)and a windshield caused by a low flying canadian goose - still has cold weather engine knock but that was common to the 99 windsor 5.4 triton built between December 98 and April 99. Ford assures me they never had an engine failure due to it, and for the most part so hasn't everyone on this board. I love my truck - I wouldn't trade it for anything right now.

Just my opinion, I may be wrong....

15 months on my '01 5.4 F250 SD.
23,400 miles, two radiator hose clamps, a couple gallons of antifreeze/water mix, one right front turn signal housing (still on the original bulbs though), two air filters, and numerous oil filters and quarts of synthetic oil.
