Hey if it caves in again maybe you could go spelunking at the Corvette musuem! Would be something to see (sans sinkhole).

But it's impossible to make something work for everybody, every time. Can't make them all.

Yeah, we could walk from Mammoth to the museum underground!

I certainly understand about not making them all. I wasn't counting on missing the second one though.

Someday, I think the East Coasters should head up to Nova Scotia. We went when Maryann was prego back in 2012. What an amazing trip. Both ends have something to offer. The Bay of Fundy had campgrounds where you could camp right on the waterfront. Just beautiful. Then up in Cape Breton Island, the Cabot Trail is one of the most beautiful coastal drives/rides you can do. We're going back in a year or two...

Lynn and I want to do that.......It is on the list.....:-jammin

Was there when in the Navy. Watched the tide go down 25 ft and left us high and dry.

We have also discussed this when the wife brought up Prince Edward Island. She brought up a cruise but I squashed that and said camper. All these places to see but I only really get one week a year for a big trip, without giving up weekend or extended weekend trips every month.

I echo a lot on the travel time. Next year in the west won't work for me. But will be there this year. Anything outside of 1000 miles will be near impossible due to vacation time issues. Even when i take a week off i wind up working 60 hours the week before and the same the week after to catch up. If it comes back in that window for 2019 we could be back in.

Though I really, really want to see Colorado and will be very jealous.

I'm just about in the same boat. Maine is really pushing it, but no kiddos either. I don't think my pending travel schedule would work well for the ten and under crowd. :'(

We pick places and move it around.

Michigan would be nice.......

I'd like a winter one in GA...TX....AZ

Tetons.......

Flaming Gorge UT.......

Eastern Shore MD.....

It will all work out. Maine is a tough one for many people........
Next year might have to be more "local" for cost reasons........

If you guys want to do michigan I'd be happy to do some legwork/ spearhead the operations.:-drink
I could probably pull off Texas too, but would prefer that around this time of year as well. It's looking likely there's going to be a wedding in the extended family in 2018, may not be able to go as far next year. :'(

Rodney, Linda and I are still planning on coming. I doubt the kids are going to be able to come (at least the boys). Their summer work-out sessions are mandatory and with them missing a week for Scout camp, they likely won't get a second week off. Linda and I still need to coordinate the time off with work, but we don't foresee an issue.
