i have a 1990 f-150 XL 4x4.........302 AOD........also in my hands is a 302 of the same year but its bad.......i want to rebuild the engine and put it in my f-150....can a lightning shortblock be made of this 302 block??.........thanks in advance!

No the 302 was never used in a Lightning. 93-95 have 351w, 99-later have 5.4

No. 302 and 351 are the same engine family but different blocks.

The 351 windsor is of the same engine family, but it has a taller deck height than that of the 302, meaning that the crank and piston through would smash right into the cylinder heads - bad! Also because of the taller deck height, the width of the intake manifold increases just a little bit, and headers fit differently.
