5 Lug 20" Antique Steel Dually Rims
 

I have 4 extremely rare vintage steel 5 lug (8" pattern) 20" budd style dually rims coming off my 1956 Ford F500. Though they have surface rust they are completely useable (inspected by a well known local truck tire center). There are tires mounted but they are completely shot and will be removed before purchase. The rims will fit either 7.50X20 or 8.25X20 tube type tires. These are NOT "widow maker" Firestone RH-5 rims. Two have the continuous lock-rings and two have the split lock-rings. I'm asking $100 each firm.


These can be shipped via freight through Pak-Mail not far from my home here in Simsbury, Connecticut.

Is there any way you could take a picture of one. I am trying to see if it is the same thing I have on my truck now?

Yes. Same exact sized rims. But you have Firestone RH-5 "widowmaker" rims as they're dubbed. They are identified by the raised band on the inside of the rim. Mine will fit your truck but are the "safer" kind that most truck tire shops will work on. I'm on my iPhone at the moment...I'll switch over to another device for a picture...hold up.

Budd style 5 lug 20" steel antique truck wheel.

It looks like they would be a perfect size replacement for what I have on there now. I am based in Oswego NY so you are only a 4 hour and 15 minute drive away. I just need to check first today to see what exact rear end is on the truck now, to make sure I can get brake parts for it.

Thanks Cal! I will shoot you a text tomorrow. I did have one last ? When I look at the pic of your rim, the centerpiece just appears smaller than what I see on my rear end/axle. Can you take a look at this and see if it will fit the opening on your rims?

Also my rim seems to be concave as if you are looking down at a bowl, but yours seem to be convex where it looks like a bowl flipped over/the reverse. I am hoping those fit on the duals?

Morning! Okay - so the dually rims fit on the back by turning the only flat faces on each rim into one another to make them "duals." They are then fastened to the axle with a dual purpose lug nut/bolt system. You can see what I mean on the rear wheels of your 250 now. Those same rims would be turned just as you see in my picture above to mount to the front axle. In other words you'll be looking into the "bowl" on the outter wheel of the rear duallies. The "bowl" is turned around facing inwards towards the truck and wraps around the brake drum on the front. Your tires are 20" right? The measurements should be like '7.50-20' or '8.25-20' . I can't see a tire size in the picture.

My center hole looks smaller because the wheel in my picture goes onto the outside of the hub up front where as the hub passes through the center of the wheel on the backs. But they're the same.

I see in the first picture with the mud on the sidewall that your wheels are indeed 7.50-20s. My wheels will definitely fit your truck.

UPDATE: The above rims are still available and the ad will be taken down when they're sold. Note, I also have 4 American made 8.25-20 Cooper Roadmaster XML tires that are nearly mint to go on these rims if needed. These are knobby tires and show very little wear. No weather checking. Tires without mounting (you take the tires and the rims they're on) are $400 for the set of four. A local heavy truck tire company can send out their mobile truck and can switch them over from their existing 10 lug GMC wheels to the above 5 lug for an additional fee.
