Are all piwerstrokes interchangable?

Hey just bought a 1997 powerstroke just wondering what years of parts will work have the chance to buy a 2001 cube van with a 7.3 in it, will injectors and glow pugs all work in my motor if I needed to change them ?

01 has split shot injectors, so won't work without a custom chip. You're better off buying new glow plugs if needed, under 100 bucks for all new motorcraft parts. Basics are the same, but injectors, turbo, and a few other differences are there. IDM is an upgrade from the 97, pcm isn't interchangable

Fuel system is completely different, of course. And +1 on the GPs; given how much "fun" it is (NOT) to work on a van engine, used GPs are not worth scavenging.

The '01 motor won't have the fuel pump cam lobe so you'll HAVE to go with an electric fuel system.
Not a bad idea anyway.
