Ford 9" in 53 Ford

Can anyone give me the drum to drum measurement on their 53 truck? I have a ford 9" out of a 70 Mustang and wanted to know if I had to shorten it to put in my 53???

It is narrower than the stock diff for the truck.

Really? The guy I bought the truck off said he thought it was going to be needed to be cut down. So can I run it?

I believe it is 59 1/4 wide compared to F100's 61 1/4. Might have to use to use reversed wheels to move away from bed sides.

Ahh can anyone confirm that?? Good to know, glad I asked

It will fit. You need to redo spring perches. Bolt pattern is different so you need different wheels. It will allow a deeper dish wheel though.
