9007 xenon bulb help
 

Hey yall,

Bought an HID kit for my 03' F250 XLT (please no lectures about stray light) I always aim my lights way down especially in the truck and drive mainly back country roads at night LOL.

Basically the 9007 xenon bulb looks like this:

The truck uses a retaining collar similar to this to hold the actual bulb into the housing:

Problem is I may be daft at this point but the bulb will fit into the housing perfectly fine BUT the retaining collar will not fit OVER the base of the bulb.

They all look the same and I know ther ppl have installed them so any advice? I havent slept much so I may be missing the obvious.

Got any pictures of the retaining ring not fitting when trying to install it? I might try and trim som eoff the back to make it have a lower profile.

I dont have the truck here to take the pics. But basically the ass end of the bulb you can see is as wide as the portion that locks into the housing.

So just past the red o-ring in the photo is where it seats and twists into the housing but is not *locked* and will fall out on any bump until the collar in pic #2 is slid over it and locks it in.

Everything on the bulb except #5 on the xenon 9007 is one piece. So #5 doesnt fit over the front or from behind the bulb./
