2001 Excursion 2" Lift: Max Tire Size on stock rims?

A friend of mine from Europe owns a 2001 Excursion with a 2" lift.

He wants larger tires, while keeping the original stock (16") wheels.

The question is: What would be the maximum size of tires that could be used?

Please advise

There is some really nice members on here that can help you out and there is few who don't like to talk about things that's already been talked about and will tell you to go search for yourself. Take no offense, we're all humans,I think. I was told stock 305/75/16 would work, with 2" lift may be able to use 315. But others here with more experience can help

I have 305/70/16 on stock rims on mine without a lift and I have no issues with them. Need to replace them soon as I have over 77k miles on them.

Yep...especially if you ask what brand of tire to buy...everyone has their favorite and are often pretty passionate about it.

35's (315's) will work fine

Thank you all!

That already gives me some idea.

315's, but expect a little rub in front at full turn. May have to tie up the inner plastic fender. Hope he's not in Holland, 1.60€ per liter!

No, he's in Austria. I don't know their prices for gas, but I think it's more around € 1.30 or so. He's got a 6.0 Diesel though and Diesel is somewhat cheaper due to a slightly less excessive taxation on Diesel.

so 315/75/16 will fit on a stock rim?

"Fit" yes...relatively speaking yes, but most stock rims do not actually meet the tires size recommendations. Therefore, your warrantees are usually void.
