1997 f350 slow to boost and lacking power when warm

My 1997 f350 was leaking where the manifolds met the up pipes. The truck struggled to go until about 2000 rpms and then it pulled much better. I had the manifolds and up pipes replaced and the truck now pulls nicely when the engine is cold. When the truck warms up, low end power is sometimes lacking and the truck seems to shift too soon, which makes the truck bog down. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It could be any number of things. If its hard to start when the engine is warm? How many miles on the oil and is it full? Maybe your leaking exhaust behind the turbo at the collectors. Look for soot there.

Is the over drive light on the shifter flashing when it shifts too early?

Over drive light on shifter is not flashing. It starts fine when the engine is warm. Turbo and exhaust gaskets were replaced when the manifolds and up pipes were done. I'll check the oil level tomorrow. Maybe I'll change it this weekend just to rule that out completely. Does this problem have anything to do with the oil warming up?

When you say struggled until 2000.
Was that driving or free revving it?
Try to floor it in neutral and see if it stumbles around 2000-2400.may check fuel filter to see if it is black.

I changed the oil and oil filter but the truck is no different. It revs fine in neutral. It just seems to not boost much until around 2500 rpms. It struggles to accelerate uphill. I changed the fuel filter in the spring and don't remember the fuel being black. I will check tomorrow after work.

More the filter.if you have injector o- rings failing the filter can pickup the oil bleeding into the fuel system and make the filter black.
Just something to check.

Changed the fuel filter. Didn't seem excessively dirty or black. Put the filter in a ziplock bag to see if any oil drained or separated from the filter into the bag. None did. Any other ideas? I'm thinking maybe I should pick up a code reader to examine further. I'm worried that it might be a compression issue.

In stock form these trucks don't boost till sound 2200.

Unplug the electrical connection to the MAP and drive it.
If it's better you could have a bad MAP or plugged/bad hose to the MAP

I've tried that. I had a 1997 f250 and switched every possible sensor with the f350 and nothing seemed to help. I even swapped computers but nothing changed. It revs fine but under power it can't get out of its own way when starting out.

In stock form there aren't any burnouts happening. Before boost and some rpms they aren't much of a racer
