1997 lug pattern to 1993?

I just bought some rims and tires from a 1997 F-150 with 16" rims, and they didn't match up to my 1993. I thought all 5 lug fords were the same? What stock set up can I use, and is there any difference between 2WD and 4WD lug patterns? Thanks.

I think it was in 97 when they changed the lug pattern. They made it larger. 1997 was the year that Ford changed the
F-series/Bronco pairing to the F-series/Expedition pairing. So they made a lot of changes in that model year. You would have to get wheels prior to 97 to have them fit on your 93.

Does anybody know the bolt pattern on the 97-up? I know it used to be 5 X 5 1/2".

LXMAN1,
Yeah from 1980 to 1996, the bolt pattern for bronco's and F150's was 5x5.5". Then Ford switched combo's to f-series/expedition and the pattern turned into 5x135mm. Why? I have no idea.

I was told that the reason they changed was because the new trucks have bigger brakes and they didnt want people trying to install 15" wheels which would hit the brake calipers and because they went to the non-cone wheel nuts with the washers and didnt want people using wheels and nuts that didnt work together.
