Engine Stall declaration

Did you replace the thermostat?
You listed its part number its ratings and specs but didn't read where you stated that you had put a new one in. |

A busted thermostat can cause your truck not to warm up. When I bought my current truck, it wouldn't warm up for crap. Took the t-stat housing off and the old thermostat came out in three pieces. Lol.

engine stalling after releasing throttle has nothing to do with the engine temp. it is a sign of injector pump problems.
first thing to do is fire the engine up and get it warm. then shut it off and remove the fuel filter. drain it, and fill with ATF. put it back on and start the engine. let it idle for 30-45 seconds and shut off. then let it sit for at least 12 hours, 24 hours is better. the ATF will clean the crud off the inside of the injector pump. if this does not fix the stalling problem, you will probably need a new injector pump. |
