Little Help Quick Question

Ok so I'm replacing the 4.6 in my 03 explorer at this point motor is sitting in the mounts, transmission is on the dowels all the bolts in the bellhousing finger tight roughly 1/4 to 3/8 gap and still can't locate the torque converter studs am I not close enough messed up gone to far? Please drop some words of advice of possible

The studs are prob pressing against the flywheel and they are turning together. Loosen the trans mount and slide the trans back as far as it will go to get a little more room. You may need to wedge something against the torque converter to keep it from turning while you turn the engine. Once you get it lined up and the trans tight against the engine the torque converter should be able to rock back and forth slightly in the flywheel holes. If it doesn't then something is in a bind.

So I'm having difficulty locating the torque converter as I look the holes for the studs appears everything is rotating together and starter hole plug on the driver side and inspection cover see no where to get anything fingers eyes on somewhere to hold or wedge the torque converter

Maybe pry the engine and trans apart with a large screwdriver while turning the torque converter with a finger, it's a PITA but you got to line it up somehow. Did you slide the trans back?

Yes trans is slide back if the weather plays nicely tomorrow I'm going to float the motor again and see what type of space I can get hope to have it figure out soon just going to need some weather to hold out for me as I'm working outside
Any other suggestions I'm open to all lesson!

Are all of the bellhousing bolts lined up?
