1997 f250 front tire wear
has anyone else seen bad wearing on their front tires? buddy has a f250 with the twin I front axle and hes going thru tires bad. he'd like to put a 6 inch lift but wants the tire wear to go away. does anyone know about a straight axle conversion? seems like this would solve the tire wear....

Sounds like his front end is shot
You can do a d60 swap |

Did my D60 swap and added a 4" lift. When finding a D60 it would be good to have it include the tie rod and draglink, leaf springs, and the matching rear axle to avoid changing gears esp if your buddies truck isnt already setup with 4.10 gears. I used all those parts on mine plus new larger shocks. Everyone also told me I needed a new driveshaft in the front but my F250 shaft bolted up fine, not sure if it depends on the truck or not.

Or save yourself about $1000+ and just replace the worn rubber bushings in the leaf spring eyes and the axle pivots with polyurethane ones. They cost about $60 and a few hours of your time. There's nothing wrong with a TTB if you maintain it. A ton of pain can be avoided by just replacing these bushings with polyurethane ones.
