While driving my truck today, I hit a large bump going 35 mph and both of my calipers locked on. I was able to limp it home but both we're smoking badly when I parked it with strong burnt brake smell. What would cause them to both come on like that? Do I need to replace both calipers and rubber hoses?

Your brake pedal at the time, right after you hit that large bump, was it all the way up? or down from where it should be when your foot is off the pedal?

I can't remember, but I still had normal braking ability when limping it back home. The pedal never went to the floor.

Wouldn't have necessary went to the floor, something had to create pressure in the lines to apply the brakes if that is what happen.
Was thinking perhaps the valve in the booster its spring is weak hitting the bump hard enough was enough to trip it causing vacuum to apply the brakes without input from you. Valve could reset fully or partially and or before operator might be aware it even happen, one doesn't often hit the brakes if already applied at the time for example!
Have you pulled the wheels inspecting the brakes for failures otherwise, had any recent brake work done? retainers left out or had fell out for example jambing calipers into rim when hit the bump?
Where the rear brakes hot as well? wouldn't be as hot as front but would show if issue was system wide rather than limited to just the fronts.
Far as hose / lines causing it you'd pretty much have to be on the brakes at the time for them to lock on stay on after releasing the pedal, not something would happen due to hitting large hole in the road.

No I haven't had a chance to inspect they were way to hot, I'll inspect more tomorrow. Thanks for the advice
