Was thinking about sellin my CCLB 7.3 5 speed.

I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I was offered 13k as is. 170k miles on my truck.

And our trucks are getting rare to find. Especially in great condition. And it's a crew cab 5 speed ! I get so many compliments and so many questions on my truck that it's unbelievable.

I was going to sell my truck for a Dodge Cummins but I just couldn't bring myself to get rid of my ford. And go into 15-20 k of debt. My trucks already paid for. And I've put about 10 grand into it.

Here is a list of things id still like to do to my truck

-better turbo (I want something that gives me more power. But I don't want something that is going to tear my truck apart. ) any suggestions on turbo ?

-lift springs in rear to eliminate blocks

-**already have stage 1 rosewoods**

-e fuel at some point

-drop Pitman arm

-possibly a redhead steering box
And idk what else

My truck has an E4OD. I'd like to have the 5-spd. Either way, I have no plans on getting rid of her. I'd like to do more modifications (injectors, turbo, etc.), but that isn't going to happen in the near future.

I believe the S366 is a popular turbo upgrade. Try a search for "Turbo upgrade" or something similar. You'll find many results on this topic. Contact some of the site sponsors, too. They'll have lots of ideas for you.

I said the same thing a couple months ago when a guy offered me 18k for my dually. I turned it down. Well he has made another offer so the dually will have a new home in a couple weeks.

The new offer is 16k, I keep my built engine and put the original 53k mile engine back in.

This will eliminate blocks in the rear.www.sky-manufacturing.com - 7897Ford4x4RearShackleFlipLiftKit45

I don't see where the spring kit is on that site ?

Well I clicked on the link on my iphone. Guess I may have to use a computer

How do I know how much lift I have in my truck?
There is a block that's 4 inches tall I believe is the stock one. And there's also a block that is 3 inches tall that I think is the aftermarket one on top of the 4 inch block.

So that means I only have 3 inches of lift right?
So Wouldn't the four and a half in shackles make it sit higher in the rear than the front?

fordpride 08-16-2014 03:21 PM

DO NOT STACK BLOCKS
That's asking for unsafe things to happen

DanielT28 08-16-2014 04:44 PM

On the rear it's already lifted with blocks. I want to fix the axle wrap I'm getting.
I was just wondering what size of shackle reverse to get. I believe my truck is lifted 3". But not sure. They sell 4.5 & 2" kits. And I want my truck to sit level. Not rear higher then fromt

stainlessstroker95 08-16-2014 07:43 PM

So take out the stock four inch and leave the three inch in there.

fordpride 08-16-2014 07:54 PM

If you want fix the axle wrap, get rid of the stacked blocks and use lift springs with traction bars. Stacked block are a good way to get you or someone else injured or killed.

I've seen truck spit stacked block out.

Skip the SKY stuff. Look at RUFFSTUFF. They make a QUALITY product. Especially when you consider the weight of these trucks

I have a set on my bronco

O, did I mention it also gives you the RIGH pinion angle too

Did you have to re drill for the ruff stuff or bolt right on ? (From the licit looked like you had to do some grinding or something ) I just want it to be simple and correct. And safe )

Diesel_Brad 08-17-2014 07:43 AM

Yes. I had to drill all 4 holes. I just tack welded one in place and set the weight of the truck on it to make sure I had good shackle angle. (it was close but not quite right). SO I ground the spot welds off and repositioned. Then drilled my 4 holes.
