First Road Trip

Headed out Saturday up to Williams AZ with a few friends. This was the first time that the truck has been out of the city. Had a few minor issues but the truck ran fine and the wife is pleased with the ride and comfort of the truck. When she is happy the whole world is happy.

Congrats on the first trip!

Man, your truck looks great. If my turns out half as nice as yours I'll be a happy camper.

Your truck is a nice looking ride and a whole more road worthy than our truck which has the original stock engine, tran and rear end from its telephone truck days. A road trip for us is about a max of 15 miles and we need to take that at about 35 mph.

Nice looking 55 Chevy next to your truck as well. We have 56 that we can actually take on a road trip like you took except for the gas mileage. Maybe some day we can get our 55 truck to your level.

It's hard for me to see your truck in that pic. The "40 Vert keeps taking my eye.:-X04
Would that be called a cabriolet then?

I believe that it was just referred to as a Convertible. It is one cool 40 Ford powered by a big Cadillac. Hard to take your eyes off of it when it's in your rear view mirror.

Sounds like a great day. Love your truck and I've always wanted a 40 Ford convertible, very nice ride.

Actually it is a 39 conv with 40 front sheet metal. Something that I have wanted to do for a long time. Of course I can't afford a 39 conv to start with.

Nice looking trio of classics!

OK Joe, what's the giveaway on the 39 vs 40 convertible?

Keep those good times rollin!

It's the top Chuck. 40 conv's are 4 passenger and have a long [unattractive to me] top to allow the back seat. I think that the 39's are so much better looking. I would love to own one.
