Bolt-on plans. Any suggestions?

Intended use: Mud truck, NO street time.

Current set up: D1VE block, D3VE heads, Holley 650, Edelbrock performer intake. Everything else is stock (as far as I know)

Plans: Holley 750, '69-'71 double roller timing chain, recurved distributor, Hedman headers 1.75" primaries 3" collector, 3" glasspack exhaust.

Any suggestions?

Machine work is out of budget right now, it would be nice.

I'm looking to do upgrades that I will be able to use when money allows for machine work so I won't have to swap everything else out again.

Truck is a '79 F150 460, C6, np205, half ton axles 3.50 ratio (getting 5.13's) 35" tires.

F150 460

I had a truck just like yours with a 1971 429 out of a T-Bird. I had D0VE heads, the block bored .030 and decked with flat top pistons. Double roller chain, L&L fenderwell headers with 3" Flow Master mufflers. Edlebrock intake with a 750 Holley. I called Comp Cams and they recommended a cam that worked well. I used 4.56 gears with 39" tires and lockers in both ends. I ended up getting custom drive shafts for front and rear, if I got some good traction I couldn't keep stock shafts in it. The truck ran very well.
