ZF 5 rebuild
 

The ZF-5 in my 1993 ( build late 92) 4x4 460 gas is pretty sloppy been used for lots of trailer pulling. I think it is a S5-42 but need to double check the tag if I buy a spare parts tranny out of a 2 wheel drive only dif is the main-tail shaft and tail housing?

Thats a very imformative writeup, so much I printed it on a color OCE' printer at work :)

Now I just some more info on parts interchange from 2 wheel to 4 wheel case.

You do not need a parts trans.
Just get the standard rebuild kit which consists of bearings, syncros, and seals
