Summer in the mid atlantic/ northen Va area is just plain hot. Period.

i think thats more on the western side of the state mate... east side where im at they dont grow it.. too sandy...

believe the harvest isnt done till late August and runs through October i think too...

It also helps to have all the water flow through the middle of the states get blown back by all the hot air out of DC
