That's All Folks! Ford F-150 SVT Raptor Not Available in 2015; FX2/FX4, Limited and STX Models Too

Say it isn't so....long live the SVT Raptor! Judging from the latest news from Detroit, it looks like Ford has made some major product changes for the 2015 F-150 lineup.

Sadly, the SVT Raptor, the FX/FX4, the F-150 Limited and the STX are no longer available as Regular Cab, SuperCab and Supercrew models in 2015.

Truck Trend has already captured pictures of the Raptor test mule in the 2015 scheme/design, so it shouldn't be too long, maybe it's just a nice stunt they're pulling as the truck is extremelly well liked.

Not surprising really. They need to focus on getting the launch right. Like the article says at the bottom, "you can bet the ranch that Ford will bring it back soon. Real soon".

I hear that!!

Yeah, think Lightning. The first gen trucks were very popular but only lasted 93-95 IIRC. Then brought back in 01? I think. If I'm wrong some one will soon correct me on the time lines. Either way though I would expect to see a second gen Raptor.

I'd like to see another Lightning again but more than likely it'll be a turbocharged version and not supercharged.

Truck trend was alluding to a 2016 / 2017 Raptor with a 5.0L VIPER engine. Boosted V-8 perhaps?

I couldn't really care less about the STX. By the time you added some goodies, you were priced along with a lower grade XLT but you still didn't get the chrome bumpers, signal mirrors, etc.

I am sad to see the FX trucks eliminated from the line-up as stand alone trim levels. I can't begin to imagine what the addition of an FX package will do to the already inflated price of a KR or Plat.

KR and Plat trucks can only be had with the 5.0L and the 3.5L EB. Bad move. Not all high end truck buyers are pulling but would also like to enjoy the moderate power and great MPG's of the 2.7L EB.

Change is good but this is a lot to take in.

The few 2014 F150s I have worked on from Enterprise, the regular 4x4s had skid plates like the FX4. I mean what is the difference between an FX4 and 4x4 model? Different shocks, a FX4 sticker on the bed and plastic skid plates...not worth the extra dough in my mind.

The FX series had unique headlamp and tailight that had more of a "smoked" look. they may have shared these with the Harley Davidson models. I always thought those were very sharp looking. But that's about the only thinkg in the FX that I really cared about, and obviously not enough to spend money on it, as I bought an XLT.

Actually, The FX models won't be stand alone. They will have appearance packages to look like an FX4 or Fx2. Same thing with STX. The Raptor and Limited however won't return for 2015.
