1970 F250 4X4 Rebuild
So I have finally started putting things back together after having been taking it apart for the better part of 20 years.

I have been tracking down parts for what seems to be forever. Now I have to actually do something and get started.
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...c5a06e1076.jpg My wife agreed a couple of years ago that a garage was needed if I was ever going to finish this project. A couple of weeks ago I finally finished installing the ceiling in the garage a now have no reason not to get started. |
COOL! Progress is a beautifull thing.:D

Hope you get it done...don't give up during the long process :-drink

The truly sad thing is I have had this truck since high school. That was a long time ago. I have had it longer than I have been married. I had to store it at my brother's house when I moved to Maryland and looked for a house. Once we bought the house it was time to tow the truck to it's new home. I rented a U-Haul trailer and drove it to Massachusetts and loaded the truck and all the parts. Then proceeded to pull it back to Maryland with my 2003 F150 FX4 4.6L. It took quite a while, couldn't go over 60 or the trailer would start to sway.

Pistons are installed! Finally something checked off the very long list.

I can relate to this, I also have a 72 250 that I have had since high school and have kept it for 34 years and finaly decided to sell it as it just sits there. I got it out and started it and then drove it around the block to see what I would have to fix before selling it and the test drive changed my mind and I am now going to build it and keep it.
As Turbo Dog said "don't give up" when it is not your primary vehicle it is easy to let it go. I am putting it in the garage today and start the teardown this way it is right in my way and taking up the garage and more motivation. Good luck with it. |
Unfortunately I am on travel for work this week so nothing getting done. I have been looking here locally while on travel for parts.

The rotating assembly almost complete. Need to prime the lifters prior to installation. After being on travel for work, it was nice to spend some time with my baby last night. I was able to get a few things done and that was great. |
Small update, been working on organizing the chaos in the garage. Actually managed to throw away some trash and put a bunch of tools away. This has actually cleared three shelves to better organize the engine build. Hopefully by this weekend I will have installed the lifters, oil pump, timing cover and maybe the heads.

Can't wait! I love seein some engine porn.
