Fuel Pump Connector Wiring Order
Well I took the Ford out a few times since all the recent repairs and she seemed to be working fine until I hit a chuckhole in the road and then she died...time to call out the flatbed.
Any I found a wire that came out of the fuel pump harness connector that houses the wires that connect to the top of the pump on my 90 F-Super Duty. When I reached up to reconnect it I found that the plastic harness connector had disintegrated. Now that I have a new connector I don't know what order the wires go back in. Any ideas? As always thanks for all your help and advice, its been priceless!!! |

On the F-Super Duty, the midship tank is a two pin connector --- the BK (black) goes to Pin 57 and the DB-Y (dark brown/yellow) goes to Pin 673. Rear tank is a three pin connector --- the BK goes to Pin 57 and the Y-LB (yellow/light blue) goes to Pin 675. The third pin is unused. I'll dig out some connector pictures later..........have to run ............... :-X22 |
This should be the order of both front and back tanks:

Hey SubFord, Thanks as always, but I can't quite make out the colors in your picture, I do have 4 wires, but can you tell me what they are from left to right or send me another photo?
Thanks again! |
Left to right would depend on direction you are looking at it from.
Top to bottom in the the photo would be: Front or mid tank: Orange wire : pump ground Red wire: pump power Dark blue wire with yellow stripe : From dash gauge (sender signal) Black wire: gauge ground (sender ground) Rear tank or main tank: Orange wire : pump ground Brown wire with white stripe: pump power Yellow wire with light blue stripe : From dash gauge (sender signal) Black wire: gauge ground (sender ground) http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g9...ps256cf03f.jpg http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g9...psf74770e1.jpg http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g9...ps25fca125.jpg / |
