boost

hi i was wondering if some one can tell what kind of boost my 97 f 350 should produce it has rose wood stage 2 injectors banks inner cooler d66 beans turbo t 500 oil pump and dp tuner when stepping on it it will get close to 30 psi then for some reason it drops 10 psi down to 20 and then my egts start climbing any body no why it be doing this? is this normal? i contacted dp tunner and they said that boost is to low and its causeing my egt readings

Boost sounds about right but when it drops to 20 I'm wondering if the boot off the turbo is collapsing?

that is a good posability u mean the intake boot off the air cleaner? as soon as the boost drop the egts start climbing so the boost shouldnt drop that much then right?

Do you still have the orange boot from the intake side of the turbo

yes i do and stock air box 2

Um...you need to get a riffraff intake boot and a 6637 style intake.the stock box was leak prone as well as the boot.

As well as that I seem to recall reading that the orange boot can collapse on higher boost levels

ok is there way i check to see if thats what it is, this wouldnt be a de fuel issue because the egts are getting hot right?

I don't think you could. You would have to see iti a loss of boost situation which I do t think you'll see parked or find anyone willing to watch while moving.

Just pull the orange boot off and take a short test driven.
Personally the orange boot is a liability regardless.they were junk new.ford sold a kit that retrofitted obs to SD style intake because it was failure prone!

Probably one of the best. He has a great price on the filter but remember to get the turbo boot as well
