very nice, what are the plans?

Philster 07-10-2014 04:35 PM

Right now, just get it driveable. Wash it, touch up small rust places, fix the brakes, fluids, tuneup, replace split rims on the rear. Most likely keep it as is and replace only what needs to be replaced.

Welcome to FTE! :-wink

That's a cool truck. You got the spotlight and factory optional turn signals!

FortyNiner 07-10-2014 05:14 PM

Good looking truck there, Philster. Enjoy that first drive. And the next one as well.

Nice truck. Now you need to add somethings to your info like where is home, "New truck is home" but where is that?

Joe, Are those turn signals not a dealer installed option and not factory? That was my understanding on those fender mounted units.

Marauder2004 07-10-2014 06:44 PM

That's a nice looking old truck you have there!

Harrier 07-10-2014 06:49 PM

Nice looking truck. Sounds like you have a good plan.
I bet a nice bath will do wonders for the looks of the truck.

Keep us informed of your progress with plenty of pictures.

You may be right. I know they were an option, but I thought you could order the truck with them from the factory. As with the spotlight.

And either way, they're cool looking.

Cool truck there!

Thank you everyone, one small correction. According to id plate in glove box, it is a 3HD transmission, not a 4 spd.
I gave her a nice spraying off tonight. Not sure what I have yet. Thought I had a nice original truck, but....
The fuel tank is behind the cab on the passenger side mounted to frame, and no tank behind the seat. The filling neck is still in original location on the cab. But neck for tank in use was added.
The color of the cab where the fuel tank should be is a darker color than the exterior. It was too dark to tell exactly but looked navy or black. Door jams, firewall and everywhere else is the light blue color in the pics.

Very nice truck in very nice condition. F3 is a great size truck. A handsome pickup, but can haul a serious load when needed. Congrats, and yes we need to know where home is!

Still has at least two of the original F3 hubcaps, which are hard to find. Don't sweat the fuel tank being on the outside. You can always add one to the original location if you feel compelled. Be careful pulling off the duct tape. You may pull the whole fender off. :)

Sprayed her off and for kicks a little bit of cleaning polish on fender and hood. Looks pretty darn good for original.:D
