Are you making a custom dash and gauge cluster?

Greg5OH 02-20-2015 02:08 PM

no stock dash, cluster..maybe. The only thing that works(ed) was the tach. I might just make my own panel. I use my gps for a speedo since the plastic gear is stripped in the trans, and im not spending 400 bucks on an actual GPS speedo. I do need a tach, will probably go aftermarket. I would like to fit as many gauges as i can in the stock opening, might be hard though.

Does the rear end have a VSS? If it does you could use the factory speedo I bet

Greg5OH 02-26-2015 08:23 AM

it does indeed, thanks for that. an auto meter programmable speedo will work great!

almsot done prewiring my dash, ordering some 4'x25 either 1/8 or 1.4" rubber roll to cut up and screw to my floor. using black RTV to seal all gaps. shoudl help with interior comfort.

You're welcome! I still think a custom aluminum diamond plate dash would be killer... Then all you need is a couple of hole saws for gauges and a couple of recessed boxes for like a radio and heater controls

Greg5OH 03-31-2015 11:39 AM

i shoulda recessed the filler some more but oh well. shes sturdy.

Got a bunch of stuff done yesterday, gotta list it all out so its out of my mental checklist

fuel filler minus paint
wiper wiring
wire linkage bushings
organized the headlight wiring
drained ATF from zf5. need to reseal the PTO plates
changed out a bulb in my boost gauge.
hooked up my dome return to the light switch
wiper, ignition and headlampo switches installed in their respective bracket
put another pushbutton on my switch panel, and a blue light for high beam indication
finished wiring for the tailights, hazards and turn signals work.
made a pig tail for my aux reverse lamps
put the correct shock bolts in
need to clean my e pump pickup screen, collected some crud from the tank, that bowl is on there tiight
horn install kit came in so i can put the tilt column in along with my wood grant wheel
hooked up my blower wiring inside the cab, just need to make my relay pack under the hood
installed megafuses for the alternator and glowplugs
need to make one more bracket for exhaust tip and paint it black.
Im always happy when the electrical works as it should. Its always a surprise lol. Hopefully my HVAC works!

I like that idea, I wonder if it would fit?

85F350IDI 04-15-2015 01:34 PM

well honestly i think it would with litte modification i mean everything on that truck is custom (well alotta stuff is) theres a very miniscule difference b/t the bullnose and bricknose trucks, how ever its up to him whether or not he gets anything like such done, i think itd be neat but then again im in love w/ them bullnose trucks :-down:-tap:-tap
