I read through the thread but did not grasp what you were tryng to point out to me. Mine is the new style pump as mine is the 2005 model year. As mentioned is blowing air directly out of the pump back side. I assume this is a failed pump but I have no prior knowledge to say that it is.

Sorry if I was confusing. Just trying to nail down for sure which style pump you were looking at. I haven't seen or read about that style pump spitting out a check ball.

Ok no big deal I just wanted to make sure you were not trying to tell me something I was not grasping. Well guess I am off to spend some money.

The thing I question is if this is also why I had a hot hard start

Do you know anyone with a known good IPR that you could borrow for testing? Im wondering if that port isn't the port the IPR uses to dump oil back to the crank case. How did the old SCT fitting look that you removed?

fordboy2 07-11-2014 09:11 AM

The stc looked somewhat questionable. The ipr is new as I just bought it.

fordboy2 07-11-2014 09:13 AM

I had just put the new stc on when I discovered the air coming out of the rear of the pump.

fordboy2 07-11-2014 10:14 AM

How much cranking will it take before I start to c it build pressure?

fordboy2 07-11-2014 10:55 AM

Also just an fyi for people trouble shooting in the future there was air coming out of that same hole after the new pump install so I doubt I had a bad pump.

fordboy2 07-11-2014 11:41 AM

Well I have cranked the hell out of it with it never building over 21 ICP. I give up, anyone wanna buy a 6.0 that doesn't start?

Are you showing oil pressure on the instrument cluster while cranking?

Yep and when I checked the oil filter housing filled up at an acceptable rate.

Ok that is good news, now did you get a scan gauge or something that will read more than the livewire does? It would be helpful to know what the ICPV's are KOEO. Have you tried starting it with the ICP sensor unplugged ( located in the passenger side valve cover ) ?

Yes I bought scan gauge the livewire did not read crap or at least if it does I could not figure it out. I don't know what X gauge you want me to read though. I don't see a icpv listed on there. Yes I have tried it with the ICP plugged and unplugged. I do not have the turbo back on yet but was told I should see it build pressure before I put it all back together.

fordboy2 07-11-2014 12:38 PM

If your referring to the ICP reading KOEO it's at 0 right now.
