truck is back on the grind of not starting , been an on going problem , truck starts when it wants to , whether its first start of the day , or after it just drove 100 miles , some days it fires right up and other it keeps cranking with no start , some days when it does start , even at operating temps when i shut it off , let it sit for a minute and it wont start back up just keeps cranking and cranking , im lucky ounce in a while it barley catches and fires , only way to get it to start is with a pinch of ether , i know my gp system is not working properly , but at these temps there not needed anyways , was recently at a local diesel shop and the ford dealer , between the two they told me it has good compression , good fuel pressure and passes a buzz test , dealer said the injectors could be binding up? truck does not miss a beat when running , no cel , everything works as it should , wts light all that stuff works , its got a new motorcraft cps , still wont start with the <acronym title="Injector Pressure Control">icp</acronym> unplugged , just throws a cel , i don't have a way to watch <acronym title="Injection Pressure Regulator">ipr</acronym> cycle and the tin nut is tight , codes its throwing are p0113 - intake air temp circ low input p0603 - internal ctrl mod KAM error p0478 - exhaust press ctrl valve high input p0470 - exhaust back pres sens circ error |
Sounds like your EBPV is stuck/sticking shut for starters the other codes I'm not so sure.

My guess its your IPR getting old and sticking.

pretty sure my ebpv is open , its unhooked anyways , i am leaning towards the ipr also but i need to get it on a scanner to check duty cycle
anybody else? |
