Squeak in Left Front

My wife just bought her first truck, a 2008 F150 about a month ago. We have been driving it around since then and love the truck. The only real problem that I have seemed to encounter on the truck is a squeak coming from the front left wheel area. I can hear it when I cut the steering wheel and when I hit a big bump/pothole in the road. My dad and I have looked into it and he thinks that it is probably the axle joint where it goes into the steering knuckle/spindle. What do you guys think of this? If it is this axle joint, is there a way to service/grease it and go on, or will it just simply need a new axle shaft? Thanks in advance for any and all help with this issue.

I don't know much about the axle joint so I don't want to sound stupid…but If you haven't already checked look at the suspension components. I only say this because I had a shock absorber go bad and leaked fluid which resulted in a lot of squeaking.
