power number difference questions

I know the f series in 08 for the 5.4 was rated at 300hp. I also know in 09 it was bumped to 310.

1) so for 08 I've visually compared the 150 to the superduty and the superduty has a bigger intake and exhaust so my thinking is it should have more power. Right or no?

2) did the 09 superduty have 310hp?

3) what caused the power bump?

4) why is the 6.2 rated at 411 for the 150 and 385 for the superduty but the 5.4 was rated the same for both?

Just some things I've thought about. Thanks for any input

I don't have any for sure answers but it could be as simple as factory settings in the pcm. 10 horsepower is not alot of difference from a 5.4 liter V8. On the 6.2 the intake and pcm settings could be different in the superduty and be more for torque than horsepower.

10 hp definitely isn't a lot but the superduty has a much bigger exhaust and better intake so I figured it had to have "more" power.

F-250 is detuned for longevity. The 6.2 in an F-250 is meant to pull 13K pounds all day long without overheating the pistons and block. The detuning gives that headroom. The F-150 is not designed with that punishment in mind, so they have a bit more headroom on the tune to play the numbers game with other manufacturers.
