New Photo Uploader : A Picture Guide.

Big news, everyone!

We've rolled out a new photo uploader that makes adding images to threads and posts much, much easier.

1. Start at the same place, by clicking the "Add Image" button in the editor.
https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...deb413e7a9.jpg

2. You can drag & drop from a folder, open and browse to choose images, or just as always--add a URL.
https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...cd0952f4b8.jpg

3. The images will then upload to your album in the gallery, from which you can pull these images in the future for other threads.
https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...784319bd74.jpg

In the upper right-hand corner, clicking "Reorder Images" will allow you to move your images around into the order you would like displayed in the thread.
https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...e09c523734.jpg

Now we have images in the thread!
https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...27b6585656.jpg

PART II: Adding existing images

Open the Add Images as usual, and click on "Add from Albums"
https://cimg9.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...67ec5eabae.jpg

Scroll through the bottom and click on the images to add them
https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.for...599d0dd82b.jpg

Choose your images, and click insert to add them into your post!

Great job team! This should make it a lot easier for every member!

hanklin 05-29-2014 05:57 AM

Heck ya on this!! Super easy even I can do this :-X22

67nukeford 05-29-2014 09:37 AM

One thing, the smileys don't work anymore. Can't get them into post, and can't open the window where the additional ones are kept, I'm not the only one with this problem!

Admin is aware of it Pat, and has a team working on it...

67nukeford 05-29-2014 09:48 AM

Okley-dokley!

arctic y block 05-29-2014 04:21 PM

Cool on the pic's. Gonna bookmark this till I learn it. And I hate to learn
new things.

Hey guys I got it to work in a test pic that is way large.
First I just tried to drag and drop it. But no go. So for
the first time that I can remember I broke down and
used the mountain icon. It resized it just right.
Life is good on FTE again. Well once the smileys come
back anyway. You guys rock. Now if I can remember how
I just did it in the test post.

Sailor Roy 05-29-2014 07:21 PM

Thanks Guys...........Nice !!

arctic y block 05-29-2014 07:26 PM

So I will try and use this for a link to "How To Post A Pic On FTE"

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...ure-guide.html

IB Jose 05-29-2014 08:02 PM

Added an addendum to outline how to add existing photos!

FORDF250HDXLT 05-29-2014 08:52 PM

there wasn't anything complicated about how it was setup.
the disappearance of the garage, the fuel economy reporting section and links to our albums at our member page nullify any advantage to ease of uploading pics to posts or albums.
FTE was downgraded drastically.

Outlaw56 05-30-2014 11:14 AM

When I click on the insert image icon, nothing happens. The cursor just sits there winking at me. How do I get it to give me the option of going to the computer for my pictures?

It should be working, we haven't had any reports of it being out, so far..

67nukeford 05-30-2014 12:49 PM

I'll have to go with the attachment manager here at work. the uploader keeps getting closed.

Two questions,

1. What browser (and which version) are you running?

2. Are you using script-blockers that block javascript?

67nukeford 05-30-2014 01:07 PM

Internet Explorer on Windows XP. Not sure of the version, or if it has script blockers here at work.

arctic y block 05-30-2014 01:11 PM

I think I will wait a few weeks before I delete the old photo posting info
I have been using. With all the problems the new system has caused
it may well get bumped to the curb yet. For now it seems to work and
even resize as it should. But like all new things it will still take some
getting used to.;)

Thanks for the tip about dragging and dropping the smiley's Steve.:-jammin

The only bad thing for me in not using my old pic posting links is that
it was how I would also subscribe to a thread I was interested in. Now
instead of just copy and pasteing that from note pad I have to break
down and type something.

Oh ,The horror of it.:'(

Now on advance edit I just clicked on the last smiley and it inserted for
me. Strange it is.;)

Pat, it might be that your work computer's software is too outdated to properly render the uploader. Do you have the permissions to install another browser?

67nukeford 05-30-2014 01:23 PM

I wish! You're probably right. But, I can still use the attachment manager when I'm here. I'll try out the new photo adder from home.

Let me know if you still have problems!

IB Jose 05-30-2014 01:59 PM

and folks, the smiley issue is getting worked on!

arctic y block 05-30-2014 02:02 PM

Smiley's work fine. Just drag and drop. Simple ;)

Is your Avatar a real pic of you Jose? Man you don't look well.:-X04

Fortunately(?), it actually isn't me.

Hmmm, maybe I need to ask this question. What happens when you put your mouse on the add image icon and click or double click? Nothing happens here.

Hi Outlaw, what browser and operating system are you on?

Outlaw56 05-30-2014 07:45 PM

Browser is Explorer 9 and Windows Vista

Are you running any script blockers? The new uploader is java-based.

Otherwise, I'll run the issue with tech and see what's going on.

FYI: People will need a current version of Java. Windows XP is no longer supported by Microsoft, therefore the subsystems like Java are no longer being updated (supported) either. Vista has a whole set of issues that were never resolved. Hope that helps a little.

Jose,
ctubutis asked me to mention in this thread that I cannot click on smileys in the right side of an advanced reply window but the dropdown box works fine for me.
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post14393192

This old netbook is running Win7 (starter) and the latest version of Firefox (29?)
I do not have NoScript enabled but I am running AdBlockPlus.

Outlaw56 05-30-2014 09:46 PM

I dont know what a script blocker is or how to find out if I have it.

Outlaw56 05-30-2014 09:51 PM

Test

Outlaw56 05-30-2014 09:52 PM

Well I tried a different browser, google chrome I think it was. So its my version of explorer 9 that is not playing well with others.

ArdWrknTrk 05-30-2014 09:59 PM

NoScript is an Add-on for Firefox that only allows whitelisted sites to run javascript in the browser.
There are similar script blockers for Chrome, Safari, Android, Opera, Internet Explorer,etc...
You don't have it unless you installed it on your machine.

Put Internet Explorer (IE) (all versions) in "compatibility mode". This works better with many sites.

Chrome can be a good choice.....That is what I usually use.

FORDF250HDXLT 05-31-2014 01:03 PM

a big issue with this new image load from album is,that you can't see detailed pics due to them all being thumbnails.so you just go back into the album manually to look around just the same anyway.by the time you do that,to insure you get the right pic,you might as well have just grabbed the img code directly like we used to do.
whats worst here now though,is you can't even get a large image and the img code with ease.so frustrating.
i see the concept and the theory.however it's poorly executed.combine this with the loss of the garage and economy tracking info that some of us spent many hours on over the years, only to be left without and FTE went from a solid 10 to a 3 at best.
it would be best by a landslide if we just reverted to what we had just a week ago before the loss of features and the poorly executed img code insert system.i can't express enough how disappointed i am with the recent changes..but im going to try anyway.
big double thumbs down.

you should try using my album titled: Superior K062 E40D Pump Correction Package found here:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/g/album/1172675
and create this thread yourself to help you understand:
https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post14394182

all will become clear how poorly executed the system is.
try doing so without cheating and using only the instructions provided by superior in this kit.however if you cheat and try to simply just copy my images in their order, now that the post is already completed you'll still see the system sucks just by trying to copy the img placement.the system is that flawed.

what would have normally taken just a few mins just a week or so ago, took over an hour probably.

for now,now that i know the site is setup poorly,iv got to "do the work" on my pc now.meaning make sure i place the pics i want in posts,to be numbered exactly as i i'll need them before loading to the album.otherwise it's near impossible to set them up as you want.

also,we used to be able to select our img cover.i don't see that option any longer either.the whole presentation of the albums as a whole has degraded.

if they're going to remain like this,i simply wont bother using the albums anymore and consider the feature gone with the garage and economy reporting.least those just disappeared so we know to be disappointed and no longer expect good things.with this system left like this,it's just a headache and leaves you wanting to try and make due when in reality, you might as well just load the pics into a devoted post and grab their img code and be done with it.

arctic y block 05-31-2014 01:21 PM

I don't seem to have any trouble finding my old pic's that are stored on
here at all. And I find it easier to post pic's from my system.

I have no idea what your talking about concerning (economy tracking info)
I have never used this so don't know what it is.

I have a gas hog so economy is just a dream anyway.:-jammin

Economy to me is pushing or rolling the Bronk into the yard to wash it
rather than start it to drive 25 feet.;)

FORDF250HDXLT 05-31-2014 01:55 PM

https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...129920.520.390

do you just use the "gallery" i see that's all i can find.it used to be we could see each others "albums" too and i had some good ones setup so others could learn helpful things/reference them there but that's gone.
when i click on your name i see the gallery option and that the pics are still easily viewed there and easy to img tag still (thus the quick and simple pic of your rig inserted) .......least until they frig this up on ya too lol.watch out, your gallery may get hit next.

arctic y block 05-31-2014 02:15 PM

Okay now I see what ya mean. When I go to my user CP I can then get to both Albums and all my pic's. But just clicking on my name only gets me
to my Gallery. I am not so sure that is different than before. I don't get
out much:-drink

I think the new photo adder is pretty awesome. I cant use it with Explorer 9 but I can with Google Chrome. Its so fast and easy compared to using photo bucket. Only thing I need to figure out now is how to make the photos smaller.

JimG1098 06-01-2014 07:49 PM

JimG here. Just tried to drag and drop. clicked on my picture in my computer, it loaded but in url form Tried 4 pics, same thin, I must be missing something.
