Broken gem module from tow man

I had some bad time with a lovely sheet of ice this winter and put my until then perfect looking explorer in the ditch. After waiting on the phone for 5 hours just to get a tow man with progressive I got one out to the site around 7:00. The accident happened at 2:00. Well in a long line of events, the very young apparently didn't know a thing tow man hooked a giant fish hook to my tie rod and went to tip the car off its side. Instead of lowering it though, he got it over enough and just let it drop. That's where the problems started. I was like aaaaahhhh. Why did you drop it! Did I mention we are watching this in 20 below windchill. Then he proceeds to start pulling my car up while it is attached to the tie rod. And guess what? He blows up my tire. Aaaaahhhh.
So we finally get it on the truck, and get it back to where we are dropping it off at. This kid lowers it off the truck and then realized he needs to put it closer to the wall so he grabs my inside door handle and the steering wheel before we even have a chance to say "want help?" And starts pulling. Then we hear a giant crraaccckk. And he has broke off my door handle and part of the inside panel. By now I'm a tad ticked. So for the last 5 months I have been working with insurance to get the money out of it. My question is though, my gem module was working before he yanked the handle off and now it's not. The only thing between point a and point b is him plucking off the panel. Is there any way he could have messed with wires or yanked something in the door that caused it to power surge or something to break the gem module. I need to know so I can prove to insurance. I have two witnesses that agree that everything was working before he did that but I need evidence that it could have broken the gem module. Any ideas?

I have an idea, that tow truck guy needs to be fired!

That is rough treatment for sure!

As for the GEM module, well, I don't know. GEM module monitors things like door position, so there is an electrical connection, but that is a pretty long shot as far as damaging the module. When you say it is broken, what specifically is broken? How do you know it is the GEM module and how do you know all was working well previous to the door handle damage? Personally, I think it would be far more likely to have been damaged in the rollover.
