Registering an older pickup
I have a couple question for all of you with trucks/cars that have the VIN tags on the door/door jam rather on the dash and registering them in BC.
I have a few '70s trucks. A couple are strictly parts as I still have to send off the double registered letter to see about getting papers for them. I got one this weekend and have a signed transfer paper and the insurance paper from the PO. On my parts trucks I noticed the door has a VIN tag and the door jam has a VIN sticker. On my new truck there's only a tag on the door. Do I have to have both or will the door one work? I thought I recalled people running into problems identifying what their trucks are in the '73-79 forums as the doors plates are used for registering states side and someone swapped doors. Is it the same here in BC? Thanks for any help. |
I think the one they go by is the one on the door. I think the one on the jamb has somewhat different information. If in doubt you could always search for the one on the frame.

Thanks Zip. I'm not too worried about what the truck's specs are/were but just making sure I can insure it.

I can't remember if my 75 and 79 have only the door tag or both.
