Tank sending unit ohms?
Any body know the correct ohm reading full and empty on a 64 f100 behind the seat tank. I don't see it in the shop manual I just bought. My gauge doesn't work but rises if I ground the wire off sending unit which makes me think its sending unit or float.
Thanks. |
If it rises when yo grond it then the gage is working, and it is probably 90ohms empty 0 ohms full. I would start ith pulling the sending unit and check the float. Also when you pull it you can cycle the float mechanis and watch the gage to see if it working, then you will know if it is the sending unit or the float

My 62 had the same problem found a hole in the float, corrosion from running the good gasoline we get. I have seen gasoline eat the steel inside a barge.

Thanks!
I'll take it apart and check it as soon as I can. I Need to weld the studs back on the vent window frames so I can get the door windows back in it first. |
The floats are cheap from NPD, or any other Truck supplier.
