No tricks... remove the grill inserts and a shot of PB Blaster (or equivalent) the day before. Then undo the bolts.

Why the question? It's rather a simple task to generate a question about how to do it....

1/4" nut driver in one hand, cold barely soda in the other. Piece of cake

1/2-inch combo wrench and 1/2-inch socket on a ratchet...

On top of this question, I've noticed the round light grills (pre-79) and the surrounding area look like they would bolt right up to a 79 as a direct replacement. I like the rounded look a bit better and I need to replace anyways. Just direct swap?

Not quite direct because of different headlight buckets which, IIRC, mount in slightly different locations.

Otherwise, very low on the difficulty meter... about a 2 out 10.

Your arm will fit back there. Take the rubber shields off of the top of the grill.

Round headlight parts for 1978 are not the same as 1977, except for the headlight retaining ring and the seal beam.
