Does SD card run the GPS sYstem?
 

The sales person said the SD card has to be in the slot for the GPS to operate. I have one in an airplane and in another car and the SD card is only needed for updates to the system from Garmin.

Who makes the gps for Ford and is the SD card required at all times?
